Josh decided to test "the waters" and do a sprint triathlon, the Stansbury one was a perfect starter. Two of his older brothers, Matt and Ben, did it with him. Josh took 14th overall and 1st for his age division, he did really well for his first one and has now caught the bug...he bought a fairly nice road bike (did you know you can
easily spend thousands of dollars on one?) His was no where near a thousand dollars, but it's new and will be faster than the one he used in this race. Here is the evidence...note the awesome "jammers" manly term for spandex!

The lame thing for the spectators is these things start so freakin early...we didn't bother trying to watch the swim so we parked out on the bike route the kids were a little excited and confused about what was going on.

There goes Josh. Thankfully, he had that farmers tan so we could recognize him.

Next was Ben, he had on a skater helmet so we could recognize him too. We had to hurry off to the next spot so we didn't get a picture of Matt biking, he was a little ways behind Ben.

Carissa and I saw Josh and Ben running while we were looking for a place to park, right when we got out of the car, Matt came running by...he had just gotten off the bike (which had a seat that was too high, not good) He was in so much pain and was cramping and telling us he was about to puke. It was not his highlight of the race!
Not long after we got to the finish line, in came Josh He was trying, but he just missed beating this guy to the finish.

Tiago thinks his Dad is pretty cool! Good thing he's wearing glasses, look at those legs! Grandpa Maher was able to watch them too.

About 15 min. later, here came Ben. (Josh was happy to beat his older brothers ;-)

A couple of minutes later Matt came in, Aiden ran with him to the finish.

Here are the hard working guys, we were happy no one died trying to beat their brother! The next one is already scheduled, it will be fun to see who wins that one. Good job Guys!
