The olden days

I recently went to Salt Lake all by myself. Josh had the boys so there was no rush for me to get back, I had the chance to do whatever I wanted. I roamed through stores, taking my time to compare different items, went into a store just because they MIGHT have what I wanted, and I even returned an item instead of putting it off until later (which never seems to come). I ate where I wanted, sat all by myself and enjoyed an entire salad without giving any of it to anyone or stopping in the middle to get something for someone. After I ate, I went to just one more store because I could.
On my way home, I saw this across the Great Salt Lake and it reminded me so strongly of a simpler time. A time when some friends and I would just drive to a big rock by the lake and watch the sunset, just because we wanted to and we could. It was always a last minute decision and we would just jump in the car, race the sun, stay as long as we wanted and talk about trivial things that there no longer seems to be time for.

Although I sometimes miss those olden days, I know that if they were still around they would be just that, OLD. My guess is I would be so sick of the trivial things and longing for something more meaningful, which is was FILLS my time today.
