I was secretly watching Tiago and his cousin, Porter, playing. I often wonder how Tiago acts when I'm not there and soon enough he pushed Porter, well I jumped right out from around the corner, scarring both of them, I grabbed Tiago and took him in the house to sit in the corner for a time-out. Well, he would NOT stay sitting he just kept pushing me (literally) so I decided that was about enough and we headed back to our house...well he didn't like that one bit so he resisted every second of it. I ended up dragging him by his jacket collar as he was trying to run back the other way which resulted in him running in mid-air while screaming at the top of his lungs. Now to picture this correctly remember I have a 5 month old in the other arm (luckily not screaming). I think the propane driver really enjoyed the show as he drove by! Finally, we reached our house and when I let go to open the door he took off running so I had to chase him down again and really work my magic to open two doors while controlling two kids. Of course I put him straight in his room and locked the door, well that lasted about two seconds before he realized how to unlock it, so I calmly turned the doorknob around and locked him in his room with the key side in. He continued to freak out for another 15 minutes, finally he calmed down to "talking" level of yelling MAAAM so I went in took off his jacket, shoes and shirt to help him cool off to take a nap (he did not appreciate this either since he knew now he was not going anywhere anytime soon). Finally, after a drink of water he settled down and is now sound asleep.
Positives in this: I definately stuck to my guns and "won" the battle; I got a heck of an arm work-out hauling the two of them up the road; I now have a reason to enjoy a cold can of Mt. Dew. Flippin' Kid!

Christen, i don't know if you remember me...I worked in the Layton Axiom office. Anyway, I stalk your blog occasionally since our kids are the same ages. I just wanted to let you know, you're not alone! We have the lock on my boy's room switched the opposite way and we lock them in for every nap and every night. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. They are the best, but they can be stinkers! Way to be such a good mommy!!
